Monarchy - Kingdom of Erathien - Ruled by King Denmark
To the north lies the main base of operations for the Kingdom of Erathien. The Capitol, also called the City of Lycidas, is named for the first known king of the continent, King Lycidas. The current king of Erathien is King Denmark, who took the throne after the assassination of his father, King Heldon. The kingdom follows a hierarchical rule and titles are passed down by blood, meaning you could have a greatly fluctuating economy, law, and sense of peace depending on if the current King or Queen have good or ill intent. The time before Denmark was considered one of the darker times in the kingdom's history, the former king was power hungry and cared little for his own people or their prosperity and put most of their resources into expansion and conquest. He was disliked and luckily King Denmark does not take after his father. He prides himself on his positivity, loyalty, and disinterest in conflict. It was through Denmark that the Civil War was calmed, though not entirely ended.
King Denmark is the sole decider of all decisions made in the kingdom. At first, he had sought council through the royal advisers, his father's appointed men, but seeing their corruption, disbanded the council and has yet to set up replacements. In command of his army is the Commandant, and under the Commandant, serve two Generals. Beneath the Generals are all serving knights, bowman, spearman, and sailors for the royal fleet.
Rebels / The Guilds - City of Verdin - Led by Andromeda, Euron, and Xox
The Rebels, or Guilds as they refer to themselves, are led by three leaders and guide the land to the south with no major hierarchy. Each guild works for themselves and for each other to supply the goods and services that everyone needs.
The first of the Guilds, and the ones considered to be the head of the faction, are The Mythico Guild, and are led by Andromeda, who is considered to be the head of the Rebellion. Their guild specialties are that they hold many mercenaries who are hired to protect citizens and take on tasks for the people, as well as they hold a wide array of negotiators and war strategists that make them adept at making laws and decisions. While they can fight with their words, they also know how to handle a sword. The second guild, and one considered to be the most dangerous, are the Blood Alliance Guild, led by Euron, a fierce ex-capitol general. They are a group of brutal warriors and assassins who make their home in an abandoned mansion in the Sotia Forest. They are the brute force behind the rebellion and take on the more dangerous jobs. The last guild is the Commerce Guild, which as its name implies, serve to make most of the Guild's money. They are compiled of traders, workers, farmers, artisans, blacksmiths, and anything in between. If you are not a warrior or a strategist, you wind up here, making this the largest of the three guilds and the most prosperous. They are led by an old farmer and trader, Xox.

Recent History
Until his assassination, former King Heldon was a powerful and dangerous ruler. It was under his rule that the Civil War began. It was when King Heldon choose to aid young King Candor, a traitor who took over Torvalum and wished to take over all the kingdoms, that the war broke out in his own country. King Heldon had took to deadly means to maintain his rule and put many men and families to the sword who choose to come against him. The survivors of this massacre went off to lead the Rebellion. King Heldon and his band of twelve council elders ruled with an iron fist and the country was turning to a dark place, with its money failing to protect and serve its citizens. Instead, their wealth went to the army and conquest, trying to gain more land and power.
King Heldon was fortunately assassinated shortly after he made his tyrannical change, by an unknown assassin from an unknown group. Prince Denmark then became king and, seeing the error of his father's ways, sought to bring his kingdom back to its former respect and glory. He worked with the rebels to establish a common ground an though the Civil War is nearly over and negotiations complete, he has a long road ahead of him in order to fix his father's mistakes. They are in a state of peace and currently working on a way to coexist. King Denmark has reached out to his fellow kingdoms for friendly negotiations and has become close with the kingdom of Eirondia. Many speculate he even fancies Erathien's current Queen, Ambrosia, and the two kingdoms may one day unite into one.

Landscape and Weather
Erathien is one of the largest, of not the largest, kingdom in the area. Its customs are rather traditional. The country is widely populated due to the booming industry. You can find creatures from every walk if life in Erathien because many people migrate here or come simply to visit. The climate is near that of the north eastern Unites States, experiencing all four seasons in sequence. Springs and falls are normally cool and pleasant in contrast to the occasional sweltering summers and bone-chilling winters.
A great portion of Erathien is covered in lush, grassy plains. This makes Erathien a perfect place for agriculture and farming, making it one of the kingdom's biggest economic industries. The kingdom's castle lies in the most north eastern part of the country. Scattered around the edges of the continent are long beaches that provide perfect spots for ports, fishing, and recreation. Large rivers break the land up into sections and smaller creeks run off from their mouths. Be careful which water source you drink from, however, for it is a toss up for whether the water flows from the salty ocean or the pure fresh water of the mountain ranges.
In the southeastern portion of the continent lies the Sotia Forest. Sotia Forest is the most dense forest in the continent, splitting the southern plaines into two sections - north and south. The area is filled with lush, deep green trees. It is a rather dark and mysterious place that many fear to travel due to the high chance that one will end up lost or worse. The forest's edges are the barrier between the King's and rebel's lands. Deep inside the forest lie the Candor Mountain Mines - though not its original name. It was dubbed that recently, given the nickname for the king of Torvalum, due to the king wishing to mine its resources and gain it for his own. The name was given mostly as a joke toward the evil king, for his name is on a landmark he will never have the chance to claim for himself. Two large bridges are suspended at the eastern end of Erathien's largest landmass. These bridges connect to the rebel's island city of Verdin.
The east most part of Erathien is bordered by the Nonus Mountains - they are the most treacherous location in Erathien. The mountains are fairly abandoned to harsh living conditions that make it uninhabitable. The trade off for those who choose to make their abode there are that most of the lands rich resources are located here - such as mining and hunting for rarer mountain dwelling animals. Rough rapids run at the bottom of the mountain adding to the danger. If you wish to reach the eastern side of Erathien, you either have to take the short, treacherous route through the Nonus Mountains or go the long way around the southern side of the continent. To the east lie mostly farmlands and hunting grounds.
The Kukiri Islands are located off of the west coast of Erirathien. This serves as a main port for ships from all kingdoms to come and trade and serves solely as an area of commerce.

Economy
Erathien's economy is known for their vast goods and trading capabilities. The kingdom has multiple ports for trading has has access to many resources that the surrounding kingdoms do not and must have to survive and thrive. The rebel faction is where most of these goods are produced; the city is full of fur traders, farmers, blacksmiths, collectors, artisans, jewel and gem dealers, etc. The king's territory is where most of the goods and resources are found before they can be produced and sold. The king works with the rebels to shop and trade goods throughout the land and supplies funds for this to take place.
